Hi Nestor,

I found you in a posting you did for vbulletin were you talk about Facebook connect. So I was checking out your forum and its impresive. However, I was not able to find the FB Connect link.

Here are my questions: Are you using vBulletin to run your forum or is it IP.Board?

How can I login to your forum with my facebook credentials? And do you know if you are able to capture the emails with FBConnect?

Hope to hear from you soon..

From West Palm Beach, Florida..

Howdy! Welcome. First, what browser and version are you using? You should have seen the Facebook connect option when you registered. But its not too late, go here:

http://undergroundny...s&area=facebook

Then associate your current account with FB connect. Actually, every time you sign in you should see this on the upper right hand of the sign in screen:

If you don't then you browser might be incompatible? I've tested this on Chrome, FF and IE 8. I'm not sure about Opera and Safari since I don't have those installed.

And, no, this is purely an IP.Board installation but I imported all the posts and users from my old vB board.

But check this post out for detailed instructions:

Let me know if it works ... I've had a few registrations already with FB connect so I'm sure it's working. That's the way I login anyway so the system is definitely working.

Hi Nestor,

Well I am now logged in with my FB account. However, if it wasn't for your link I would have never found it. I mean, I saw your FB Connect all over the forum page and information about it, but could not find the link to get to it. There were boxes saying login with Facebook but no link that will take me to the login face.

Why did you move from vBulletin to IP.Board? I really like your forums/dicussions feel and look. Is that look only posible with IP.Board?

Thanks a bunch!!!

I moved out of vBulletin because my license for it had expired and I did not want to pay the $235 for the train wreck that is the vBulletin suite Posted Image

For the same amount, I get this brand new IP.Board with Facebook connect, a gallery, portal and blogs plus loads of AJAX and features vBulletin 'might' have in a year or two! Why wait?

As for the look and feel, this is a modified "CleanCut" skin freely available on the IP.Board site and is purely a template/css modification. No annoying style vars to figure out. I'm not going to say it was an easy move in that there is a learning curve involved but as you can see the results, totally worth it.

Those were the ones! All you had to do was to complete the login through Facebook and your user account would have been automatically generated. You never even had to fill out the registration form.

Try again, this time on the Invision site and check out the pre-sale questions and see if IP.Board is for you:
http://community.invisionpower.com/

Remember, don't fill out any registration forms, just look for the Facebook box and complete the login and you're in! You can see the Facebook box by clicking on the "Sign in" icon and then look on the upper right side of the screen:
